The Pyramid drinking game, also known as Beeramid or Pyramid Scheme, is a card game that involves players drinking based on the cards they uncover in a pyramid-shaped formation.

To start, arrange a deck of cards face down in a pyramid shape, with one card at the top and increasing rows below, forming a base of seven cards. Players take turns flipping over cards from the pyramid, with each card’s value dictating drinking actions.

Aces typically result in everyone drinking, numbered cards allow the dealer to assign drinks to other players, and face cards designate specific players to drink. The dealer continues flipping cards and applying the corresponding rules until all cards in the pyramid are revealed.

Variations such as the Reverse Pyramid or Double Pyramid can add complexity and excitement to the game. Pyramid is fast-paced and guarantees plenty of laughter and camaraderie, but players should always remember to drink responsibly and stay within their limits.

Here are the basic rules:

Setup:

1. Arrange a deck of cards face down in a pyramid shape, with one card at the top, two cards below it, three cards in the next row, and so on, until you have a base of seven cards.
2. Players sit around the pyramid and decide who will go first.

Gameplay:

1. The first player (the “dealer”) flips over the card at the top of the pyramid.
2. Depending on the card’s value, players must drink as follows:
   • Ace: Everyone drinks.
   • 2-10: The dealer assigns a number of drinks to another player or distributes them among multiple players.
   • Jack: The player to the dealer’s left drinks.
   • Queen: The player to the dealer’s right drinks.
   • King: The dealer drinks.
3. After resolving the card’s effects, the dealer moves to the next card in the pyramid and repeats the process.
4. Continue until all cards in the pyramid have been flipped over.

Optional Rules:

1. Reverse Pyramid: Start with seven cards at the base of the pyramid and decrease by one card in each row, leading up to one card at the top.
2. Double Pyramid: Build two pyramids side by side, allowing for more players and increased drinking.

The game typically proceeds quickly, with players consuming varying amounts of alcohol based on the cards uncovered. As always, it’s essential to drink responsibly and be mindful of individual limits.
