Screw the Dealer Drinking Game

Screw the Dealer, sometimes known as Fuck the Dealer, is a drinking game played with cards. The purpose of the game is to guess the card number that the dealer has within two tries.

To get started, decide on someone to start as the dealer. The dealer should shuffle a deck of cards and then peak at the top card without showing anyone else.

The dealer will then ask the person to their left to guess the card number. If that player guesses correctly, the dealer must drink 4 times. If they are incorrect, the dealer gives them a clue by telling them if the card is higher or lower than their original guess.

The player can then guess a second time using that extra information. If they are correct on the second guess, the dealer has to drink 2 times. If they are still incorrect, the player has to drink the number of times as the difference between their second guess and the dealer’s card. For example, if the dealer’s card was 10 and the second guess was 7, the player would have to drink 3 times.

The dealer then places the card face-up on the table in order and grouped by number. The dealer moves to the next card in the deck and asks the next person in the circle to guess. Play continues around the circle until all of the cards have been played. As more cards are laid on the table, it should become easier to guess the dealer’s card.

If the dealer is able to beat three people in a row without having to drink, they are able to pass the deck to the next person.

Screw the Dealer Rules

• Sit in a circle and choose a dealer to start. To help pick, you can deal everyone a card and the lowest one becomes the dealer.
• The dealer shuffles the deck and looks at the top card in private.
• The player to the dealer’s left must guess the card’s number. If they are correct, the dealer drinks 4 times. If they are incorrect, the dealer will tell them if the card is higher or lower than their original guess.
• The player gets a second attempt to guess the card. If they are correct, the dealer drinks 2 times. If they are incorrect, they must drink the number of times as the difference between their guess and the card.
• The dealer places the card face-up on the table in number order and grouped by number. This allows the players to keep track of what has been played to far.
• The dealer pulls the next card from the deck and asks the next player to guess following the same rules. Play continues around the circle until all cards have been used from the deck.
• If the dealer is able to beat 3 people in a row without having to drink, they pass the deck to the person on their left.
• The dealer is not allowed to lie.
• Aces are low (equal to 1).
• For correct guesses, the dealer must drink 4 times on the first guess or 2 times on the second guess.
• For incorrect guesses, the player must drink the difference between the dealer’s card and their second guess. For example, if the card is 4 and the player guessed 8, they would have to drink 4 times.
